My Dog Ate My Homework

Teachers can use technology to their benefit in the classroom by using the different options and opportunities available to differentiate the lessons for each student or specific groups of students. The students can work on the same work or same type of work at the same time at their own pace. Some students may move faster than others

and move onto learning about new topics while other students may need more time on the specific subject. It is also important to complement traditional learning that is taking place in the classroom with technology. Students still need to learn interpersonal skills and have personal development while in the classroom. With if a teacher depends only on computers for learning, students could fall into the realm of too much screen time.

Teachers also have leverage with technology because they can give instant feedback to students and assign homework to students that they can complete while they are away from school. Students are not able to use the excuse of “My Dog Ate My Homework” in the digital age where assignments can be given from anywhere in the world. Students have more accessibility to technology now than they have in past generations.

Churches should evolve with the times and use more technology. There are many resources available that churches could use to help with understanding of sermons that were taught, preparation for Bible study and assign weekly work for students in the children’s and youth ministries. A Bible study leader could prepare a short response questionnaire weekly before meeting with their class to make sure that there is understanding from the sermon series or the class reading series. The church has many opportunities to reach out to people via the internet with the use of live feeds on Instagram and Facebook, people around the world could watch a sermon and listen to it multiple times. Technology is not something that will be going away any time soon and churches and schools should keep up with the times and integrate technology into lessons and sermons.
