Focusky http://focusky.com/
This site gives users opportunities to customize their presentations and use a large multitude of fonts and languages (which are included in the site). Many templates are given on the site that are free and gives users the opportunity to share their presentation from any device instead of just on specific devices. The website also uses 3D transitions which help create the effect of a movie to help flow through presentations. Many of the templates that are available help any person create a presentation that flows well and looks professional.
For my own personal use, I like that my presentations look professional and I do not have to guess on what my next slide should look like. I have a difficult time with creating unique presentations that do not look plain and boring.
Having templates available, students would be able to create presentations that flow and they do not have to overthink their ideas. The student would be able to write and add pictures to their slides without having to put much thought into the design.
Emaze
Emaze is a site that helps students and teachers to create presentations, e-cards, websites, blogs and photo albums. Emaze offers users the chance to add many different voice commands, maps, charts and pictures to their presentations. A nice thing that is similar to focusky is that the users can use pre-made templates to create their presentations. The site gives users can upload their presentations to other sites to share and send to class websites.
For me this site works well because I can create many different things on the site. I am able to make e-cards to send out to parents such as invitations to events and cards to celebrate student success. I try to be personable with my families at school and this gives me a chance to send out cards no matter where I am or what I may be doing.
My students can use this site to create different presentations that are interactive. They can add videos from youtube, maps and pictures that are relevant to their ideas. I also like that not many options are given to over stimulate students while they are working. Once they have too many options, it will take them longer to create presentations. Students in my classroom recently went on a field trip to the zoo. When they came back, they were asked to create presentations to share with their classmates about one animal they saw at the zoo. This website would have helped them share information from different sites and add different information about the animals.
Churches use many different applications and presentation sites during services and through different ministries. The children's ministry at my church uses ParentCue, which is a application that is through Think Orange. This site sends parents the videos that correlate with the lessons being taught, and the verses that were used. This helps families to be in the know of the lessons and information that is being taught in the classrooms.
